When is the firewall deployment happening?

The deployment date is Sunday, June 22, 2025.

Time by region is:

  • Americas – 2:00AM–8:00AM US EDT (11:00PM–5:00AM US PDT)
  • APAC – Sun 4:00PM–10:00PM
  • Europe – Sun 8:00AM–2:00PM

What is happening during deployment?

We’re implementing a new, advanced firewall system as part of our ongoing commitment to strengthen Americold’s network security, performance, and reliability.

Why is this deployment important?

This upgrade ensures we stay ahead of evolving cybersecurity threats and continue to support modern business needs. The new firewall will deliver:

  • Stronger threat detection and prevention
  • Improved network performance and visibility
  • Enhanced support for remote access and cloud-based services

What services will be impacted?

During the deployment window, the following services will be temporarily unavailable:

  • Internet connectivity and VPN access
  • EDI
  • Americold Citrix
  • Internal systems hosted on-premises
  • All services hosted in and accessed through the Las Vegas data center
  • All JDA/BY/AWMS/Power/P2 WMS systems
  • Kronos (NOTE: clocks will continue to record punches)
    • APAC: Unavailable 4:00PM–10:00PM
    • Europe: Unavailable 8:00AM–2:00PM

Who is performing the deployment?

The deployment will be carried out by Americold’s IT Infrastructure team in collaboration with our trusted firewall technology partner.

How will you confirm that all systems and functions are operating as intended?

From 4:00AM to 6:00AM, IT leads and Operations teams will validate all major systems, including:

  • EDI
  • RF devices
  • Printing
  • Core applications

How will I know when services are back online?

Customer:

  • I3PL Message Center will be updated with message providing systems are restored and verified
  • As stated earlier, deployment window is expected to be 6hrs 2:00AM – 8:00AM US EDT

What if there is a deployment issue?

A rollback plan is in place. If needed, we will revert to the previous firewall configuration and restore all services within the planned window

What to do after the maintenance concludes with the all-clear?

  • Americold IT will monitor systems to ensure EDI connections are reestablished and flowing as normal
  • Customers may need to resend any failed EDI transactions.
  • Local Site Customer Service Representatives will assist with any missing EDI data needs
